Snow stared dully out of her bangs. Once again, she was here, another year, just to fail. She failed since she came here. She hated it here. Every year she came back, and did not get any better. She soon glared at the place, picturing it completely frozen over, that'd be a dream come true.
Grumbling, she soon looked away. She was standing under a tree, and was leaned against it. The tree it self was frozen now, and a small two feet area around her was. She couldn't touch nothing without it freezing.
A grin played her lips as she remembered her past four years here.. The first tear she froze a teacher on accident, that was fun, had to get someone to thaw them out.. and then some dumb kid was dared to touch her, not smart.
Snow didn't really hate this place, it was her only home where she wasn't shunned away from being different. But being a talking freezer didn't help either. Giving a annoyed growlish sound to herself, the ice coated area spread a few inches due to her anger, then settled again.
Guess it was time to go to her lonely dorm room.

Catlynn Frost was among the population of students who looked forward to every new year at GEAA. Unlike Snow, he knew that the following year would be his last; after all, his control was improving each year, and he was already in his third year now. He didn't have much more to learn. He always enjoyed returning home to see his parents over the break season, but coming back, having some form of independence from his family despite his love for them, was sometimes even better.
Walking along, the flamboyantly decorated boy noticed Snow standing on her own beneath a frozen tree. He knew who she was, even if she never took the time to acknowledge him, because that was just the way he was. Everyone was within his radar, and he always went out of his way to be friendly. Not to mention after three years, he'd shared several classes with Snow.
"Hey Snow." He smiled over to her, keeping a safe distance of a few feet, knowing very well what she was capable of. He had his hands settled in the pockets of his fitted brown jacket, a bit of fauxfur friz around the hood and a red fitted t-shirt underneath. His jeans were partially shredded, naturally or otherwise was unclear, with a pair of oversized and untied brown and white high-top sneakers.

Snow kept scolding to herself, then noticed the brightly colored boy walking up to her. She knew him, everyone knew him... Somewhat. She had sat beside him in a few classes, and never seemed to get to emo-y around him.
Watching him stride on up to her, a brow lifted behind her orange hair, he couldn't see that, of course, or even her eyes.. No one has. She was one odd girl.
"Merf." Was her answer to his hello, she wasn't all that good with speaking skills, since, she didn't have many friends.. if not none. The ice soon to back away slightly from him, the only welcoming gesture she would make.

Catlynn wasn't entirely surprised by Snow's response, or lack thereof. Despite never really speaking in depth with her, he'd said hello before, and heard plenty of stories of encounters she had with others. He wasn't a fan of gossip himself, and never judged someone based on what others told him. Then again, he never really judged people, period, even if they treated him less than kindly.
"Nice day today." he continued with a pleasant smile, taking a few steps closer as her powers allowed it, "Are you excited about classes starting?"

Snow watched him carefully, usually, people avoided her. She glanced at the ground as he came closer.. and the ice retreated once again, closer to her. Then she glanced back up at him.
"No." She answered in a near snarl, she always felt stupid being here. Oldest in the class, and a failure with control.

Catlynn wasn't deterred by Snow's less than positive attitude, if anything it just amused him, his smile growing as her ice retreated further. "Oh yeah? That's too bad." he chuckled softly, keeping his constant positive attitude. "You're in the single housing dorms, right?" he asked, just for the sake of conversation.

Snow soon put her gaze to the ground, the ice retreating once more. She nodded her head to his question, not wanting to really talk now. Glancing up, she stared at him abit, the ice was at her feet now.. but behind her, it was out farther. "Mhm.."

Catlynn stepped further toward Snow as the ice retreated, taking that as an invitation to move closer, something he'd never turn down regardless of the person. His smile returned all the while, treating her like an old friend he'd known for years, as he treated everyone. "That's cool, I'm kinda envious." he chuckled light-heartedly, "Sometimes I wouldn't mind the privacy." Though he wasn't exactly the private kinda guy. He'd walk around naked if the opportunity arose. "What classes are you taking?" Despite the rather one sided conversation, he didn't seem at all awkward or at a loss for words. Each question came just as smoothly and friendly as the last.

Snow stared at him, then leaned back further into the tree. Listening to him have his little questions, she didn't want to answer, but she wanted to.. in another way.
"Normal classes. Extra ones on control." She answered, hardly any emotion in her voice.

"Oh yeah? I'm taking the art class, are you?" Catlynn asked, determined to keep this conversation going despite Snow's lack of enthusiasm. If she told him to leave, he would without question, it was how he was, but so far she seemed....subtly welcoming of him, as many people were. "You seem like the artsy type to me."

Snow mentally sighed, she hated to talk, looking up at the sky, she tapped her fingers against her sleeve. "Yeah." She muttered, looking back down again. "Is there something you want?" She snapped, wondering why he was bothering to talk with her.

Catlynn seemed somewhat surprised by the harsh question, but never offended or hurt. Instead his smile just turned to more of a gentle understanding and he shrugged his shoulders, "Nah, just making conversation. Do you want me to leave?" he asked, thumbs slipping into the pockets of his jeans as the heel of his shoe dug idly into the dirt, awaiting her response.

Snow stared at him, her brow lifting. "Why?" She questioned, her head tilted to the side.. she felt oddly.. Happy, someone bothered to talk to her now.. or even make some sorta of conversation.

Catlynn seemed somewhat surprised by the question at first, but that soon turned to a vague amusement. Nothing condescending, it just wasn't a question he was used to hearing. "Why not? You're you, I'm me, we're two different people. How else do you expect to learn about other people if you aren't going to talk to them?"

Snow stared at him, that slightly annoyed her.. so he just wanted to talk to her just to bug her about things she wasn't going to talk about. "Whatever." She snapped, then looked off to the side, the air around them chilling down even more, the ice circling around him and enclosing him, only a small patch of grass not frozen, and that was where he was standing.
