Mainly the head and the tail - ignore the dress and pretend the hair is longer... I'll get around to making a picture
Full Name: Claritha Jessamine Hawthorne
Nickname(s): Clary
Age: 16 years
Height: 5’9
Build: slim, healthy
Hair Color/Style: long (elbow length), not necessarily brushed, red, wears it down
Eyes: clear green
Distinguishing Features: She has a tail when she turns cat
Body Modifications:
Abilities: When she is angry or hurt, she often takes on the characteristics of a cat. She is mastering her skill of being able to turn cat at will. Her nails grow out long into claws, and a tail will grow. Her senses become more alert, and her reflexes improve greatly. Her eyes will change color too, changing from a clear green to a teal-blue color. She has cat-like abilities like improved climbing and balance.
Status: Student
Rank: sophomore, 2nd year
Strengths: sensitive, being silent, controlling her anger, balancing
Weaknesses: being so sensitive (she’d do something to herself if it made someone feel better), when people complain about their families being overprotective or their siblings annoying them, big crowds
Personality: Clary is a shy and quiet person, who is sensitive to other people’s feelings. She just wants to fit in and master her power. She began almost fearing her power after the accident with her brother, but during her time in the woods, she began to respect it. After the accident she also began to try and control her anger. She became good at that, though her emotions are still easily read in her eyes. She isn’t really outgoing, preferring to stay alone with her own thoughts as she had in the woods. Her mental shield isn’t the easiest to break, but it isn’t the hardest. She dislikes people that read other people’s thoughts and steal their secrets, and tries to avoid whoever she knows has that particular ability. She enjoys cats, and misses Mr. Pussypaws, no matter what he had done to her. As her control over her power grows, so do her reflexes. She tries not to use her power when she doesn’t have to, and wants to gain the courage to stand up to bullies. She hopes to pass her second year, and knows that if she keeps working hard, she stands a good change of it. She fears another accident like the one with Freddie. She can be easily pushed around, sometimes standing up for herself, other times not.
Relationships:
Relatives: Brothers – Jacob and Freddie
History: Clary comes from a rich, wealthy family, with many servants. She grew up having all the attention and everything she wanted – almost everything. Unlike her two brothers, she didn’t want to steal all the attention. She was sensitive to her servants, realizing that they were working only to please her. Her family didn’t understand her reasons – explaining that it was there money and they could do what they wanted with it. To make things even weirder, when she was 4; her cat Mr. Pussypaws bit her. She became sick, diagnosed with something unknown. About 3 months later, she became healthy again, and nothing happened. She was still loved and petted over by parents who hardly spent anytime with her anyway. She grew closer to the servants, offering to do some of their work. Her brothers, Jacob and Freddie, bullied her about her willingness to do servant work. Finally, around age 7 she lost her temper – not just a little bit, a lot. And then it happened. Something had happened when Mr. Pussypaws had bit her. Something had been put into her blood that caused her to grow more catlike when she lost her temper. Her nails grew into claws, and her senses were enhanced. Her reflexes were faster, and a tail sprouted. She could climb more, and her eyes changed color. Back then, she hadn’t known how to control her power. She had clawed across Freddie’s face until she was satisfied, and then, when she was back in her right mind, she was horrified at what she had done. Her brother had crawled off, bleeding with permanent scarring and no one looked at her the same way. Her father didn’t yell at her like he would have any other time. All the respect she had kept turned to fear, and she began to be avoided. Even her close friend, a maid named Julia, began to avoid her and only came in contact with her when she had to. Clary’s parents always seemed uncomfortable when she was in the room, and finally she grounded herself to her room. She sat there sulkily for a long time, perhaps a year, sneaking down at night for food to live off of. She didn’t want to see her parents comforting and praising Freddie on how brave he was, or telling Jacob to be careful of his younger sister. When she entered a room, the people in it always went silent, watching her warily. Finally at age 12, she left. She packed a change of clothes, a pair of dirty pants and a T-shirt, none of the fancy dresses that her parents believed in. She dressed in black, leggings and a long-sleeve shirt, and sneaked out. She stuffed her pockets with the spare money she found hanging around, moving on silent feet, another advantage to having the cat ability. She left out of a window, dropping lightly onto the ground. Then she fled through the forest across the backyard. She wandered, having no idea where she was going, but not caring as long as she left her old family behind. She lived off of the small mammals that took residence in the forest. She set traps, and then, after teaching herself the basics of “turning” cat anytime she wanted she caught them barehanded. She set up camp by a stream, a constant source of water, and lived there for a while. But hunters stumbled towards the stream at one point and she fled again. Eventually she reached the school, as healthy as anyone could be after living off of rabbits and mice. She was scared at first, of all the people. She had spent a while, perhaps even a few years, in the woods, isolated from human contact. She was almost wild, having forgot how to communicate. Still, she learned that it was a school – a school for the gifted. And against her better thoughts, she enrolled, spending what money she had left. After being around people for a while, memories from her past came back, how to act and how to communicate. She became more “tame” and quietly went to her classes, enjoying Physical Education and Science the best. She excelled in those, but was still shy and quiet around so many people. She spent her freshman year adjusting to the crowd, the school, the work and its social structure. She tried to fit in as best she could. She passed her first year, and is entering her second, hoping to make some friends.
