While Cat did work quickly, charcoal portrait drawing was an intensive task, especially with the detail put into it, despite his years of experience. As Nero was finishing up his drawing, the other boy was still working in some of the final additions. He used a white charcoal to add in some highlights, as well as remove certain imperfections that couldn't be erased, smudging it with his finger to blend it into the color of the paper.
He added in the last finishing touches to the strands of the hair, the tiny wrinkles of the lips, before glancing over as he noticed that Nero was finished, "Done already?" he smiled at him, turning his attention back to his drawing, though still aware for Nero's response as he finished up his drawing.

He looked up at the boy. "Oh yeah. I just have a few details here and there, but mainly I'm done," He gestured vaguely with his hand over parts of his drawing. "Once I set my mind to something, I usually get it done somewhat quickly." He turned his attention to Cat's charcoal drawing. He looked over the face that had been filled in with care. "Wow. That's really... really good."

"You did a great job." Cat remarked as he looked over Nero's mostly completed piece. He was definitely impressed by his speed, as well as the talent he had when it came to animals and landscapes. He eyed the other boy's piece another moment before addressing the compliment, chuckling softly and leaning back in his chair, "Thanks, portraits are most of what I do, so I guess I've gotten pretty used to them."

Nero shrugged, understanding. It was the same with him. He often doodled, if not drew animals doing various things, and hunting was one of his favorites because it challenged him and there were so many scenes he could draw. "Yeah, I know. I mostly draw animals and stuff, so eventually you kinda just... get used to it I guess," He replied, setting down his pen. He liked art class, and planned on joining it as soon as possible. He was glad that Cat had found him, told and convinced him to try out the class. It was nice to be surrounded by artisic people.

"Heh yeah, that's right." Cat offered a rather relaxed grin to Nero's words, now stuffing his hands in his pockets and leaning in his chair as he eyed the other artists in the room. The teacher was still working, it must've been a pretty thorough piece, and all of the other kids seemed to still be working.
"Guess we're the early birds." He chuckled softly.

Nero nodded, "Yep. Pretty much." He looked up at the teacher, and saw her glance up, then look back down. She paused in her drawing, as if studying it. Seeming satisfied, she leaned back and surveyed the class. He saw something light up in her eyes as she looked at him and Nero, before her gaze was averted to the rest of the students who were still bent over their work. "Yeah. You can have my worm though," He joked, finishing the saying.

Catlynn chuckled at Nero's joke, his relaxed smile turning to more of an amused grin. He was easily amused, so really anything remotely humorous would have made him laugh. "Hah, that's good." he murmured. If anyone didn't know him well enough, people probably would have thought him to be stoned a lot of the time...he was just generally a very relaxed individual.
As he noticed the teacher looking around at the students, he decided to address her again, with his usual politeness, "What'd you draw, Ms. Teach?" he asked, not meaning to offend with the nickname, and made so apparent by the softness in his tone.

Nero felt satisfaction as Catlynn laughed at his joke, even though he hadn't thought it was that good. He shrugged, smiling. "Thanks."
Cecelia's eyes moved to Catlynn as he addressed her. She didn't mind the nickname, she was easygoing as well. "Me?" She asked, though she knew the answer. She glanced down at her drawing. "I'll show you." She stood and grabbed her peice, walking over to the two boys. She held out her paper for them to examine. The herd of four horses were standing on the ridge, and the stallion raised his head, letting the wind blew through his mane.
Nero's eyes widened - he felt them. The drawing was very good, very very good. He had thought he was reasonably ok, but she was better. "Wow, that's... That's really good."

Catlynn wasn't necessarily surprised by the teacher's skill, he expected as much from someone teaching others the trade, but was definitely pleased by the scene. It was serene, comfortable, and you really felt like you could touch the horses they looked so realistic, "Yeah, you're like...the best I've seen." he added with a wide grin.

Cecelia smiled thoughtfully. "Thanks... But I have to be good if I'm to teach art to others," She spoke, then shrugged. "I suppose my ability helps as well." She looked down at her own drawing, not nearly as impressed by it as the two students. She always knew what her drawings would come out as before she drew them.
Nero glanced at Cat, then looked back up at Cecelia. "What's your ability?" He asked hesitantly, not really knowing whether or not to ask. He didn't want to be rude in his first class, but he was curious all the same.
OOC: sorry for the bad post... no muse... D:

(Not at all! It's fine ) Cat was quite curious by the mention of some ability as well, glancing to Nero as he looked at him before turning his attention back to Cecelia as Nero asked about it. He didn't see it as rude, after all, they were in an academy where everyone had an ability of some kind, so it seemed only natural to ask if one was curious. Regardless, he added a smile onto Nero's question, just to prevent them from seeming rude.

Cecelia had expected the question, and laughed softly at Catlynn's attempt to make the bold question less rude. "It's okay," She told him, smiling. "I don't really have a word for my ability, something that just sums it up. I guess the closest thing to it would be duplication, thought it would be duplication with a twist. You see, I can think up a picture in my head, and when I draw it, the picture will always come out how I imagined it." She paused, letting them catch up. "It's very useful when I'm drawing."
Nero was impressed. That was an interesting talent and it explained her mastery of art. "Wow, that's... that's really cool. No wonder you're an art teacher."

"Dunno if I'd wanna be drawing the things I imagine." Catlynn chuckled, mainly because he'd managed to amuse himself, but the laughter faded after only a moment. "But that's pretty cool, must come in handy in your line of work." he paused a moment, thinking on something before asking further, "So like...if you were in a room and wanted to show someone else exactly what you saw...you could just like...draw it real fast and it'd be perfect?"

Cecelia raised an eyebrow at Catlynn's first comment, but didn't react any other way. She paused before answering his question. "I don't know if it would be perfect, it would just be how I saw it. I don't think that anything can really be perfect. Especially to the one who makes the art - there's always a flaw, always something to improve next time. But back to answering your question. If you mean perfect as in a perfect copy as how I see it in my mind, then yes."
Nero couldn't help it. He laughed quietly at Cat's joke, but his laughter faded around the same time as the other boy's. He listened with increasing interest to Cat's question and then the teacher's reply.

Cat nodded along to Cecelia's response, grinning as Nero laughed at his joke, but didn't comment on it again. "That's still pretty cool." He mused once she'd finished her explanation, "Would be awesome if you could make something perfect, though, you know? Like...the first perfect thing ever.." He was just confusing himself now, and soon shrugged off the thought, "All I can do is make people wanna sleep with me or something." not that that never came in handy, and he was capable of a lot more than just that.
