Nero was lounging up against a tree, legs outstretched in front of him. A pile of workbooks and notebooks and whatnot was on the ground beside him, neglected and full of doodles made during class when he was supposed to be doing work. He was twirling a pencil in his right hand, watching students go from this class to the next one. He didn't care if he was late for class, really. It was his third year here, and he was beginning to feel less stressed about school, the teaching less important. The only class he really had to learn was controlling his power. He smiled to himself, surprised that the tree hadn't been eaten up by acid already. He glanced at the pile of school books beside him, and wondered how much trouble he could get in if he "accidentally" used his power on them. He'd probably have to buy new ones, and his parents wouldn't be to happy about that. He rolled his eyes. It was already costing his parents enough to pay for the school, and he didn't feel the need to make them stress out even more. They had already done more than enough for him, not kicking him out when his acid powers had manifested and gone out of control. Bored, he looked down at the grass beside him, a single blade poking up out of the sea of green. He touched it gently with his finger, almost caressing it, and the plant sizzled away. Soon it was gone. He was so engrossed in his "work" he didn't notice someone approaching.

A pair of oversized high-top sneakers approached Nero through the grass, stopping beside his opened textbooks and papers. Catlynn stood there, soon squatting down to look over the doodles he'd drawn over his notes, a smile casting over his lips. As an artist himself, he always appreciated another person's work, regardless how small or effortless. That was who he was, along with his big-hearted mentality.
"Hey, these are pretty good." He chimed, maintaining his usual laid-back, positive demeanor. He recognized Nero from previous years, which was the only thing that kept him from introducing himself. Not to mention he was pretty popular around school, considering his powers.

Nero looked up from the ground. He saw Catlynn squatting over his doodles, and heard his compliment. "Thanks," He said, turning to face the other boy. "They're from class." He rolled his eyes dramatically. "Sometimes the teachers bore me to death and leave me with nothing else to do, you now?" Nero shrugged. He'd heard that Catlynn was an artist, and was suddenly curious to see some of the other boy's work. "Do you doodle?"

Catlynn looked back to Nero after a moment as he spoke, nodding his head with a slight chuckle as he could definitely relate to being bored in class. His teachers never seemed to mind, though, curiously. He smiled as Nero asked him about his own work, not that he was someone to brag, but he always enjoyed talking about art. Another passion of his.
"Yeah sure, I'm in the art class here." he explained, remaining crouched there to be at eye level with Nero, "Usually charcoals and acrylic stuff, though."

"Cool," Nero replied. He hadn't signed up for art class, actually hadn't considered it. He didn't think he was that good at art, and he'd hardly ever done anything with charcoals and acrylics. Yet he nodded, trying to look like he understood what Catlynn was explaining. "I.. I just use pen and the occasional pencil when my pen runs out of ink. What do you like to draw or paint?" Personally, he liked animals, but was moving more towards anime styled people.

Catlynn considered the question a moment, "People mostly, I guess...portraits and couples. I really like getting the depth and emotion that you see in real life into my work." he explained with a thoughtful smile, "A bit of everything, though, I guess. You should join the art class, it's still the start of the year, I'm sure you'd get in."

Nero shrugged, he wasn't sure how much time he was willing to spend on art. "I prefer animals myself, the texture of their fur and everything." He gestured to a wolf looking down from the top right corner of a page. He had shaded in the area around the eyes and had even gone so far as to make part of the shadow, before it ran off the paper. "Yeah, I guess I could give it a try. How many people are there? Who teaches it?"

((Oh dear, we have no art teacher yet XD; ))
Catlynn turned his attention to the wolf drawing, admiring it a moment before nodding at him, "Yeah, animals can be fun. Yours are really good." he was always dishing out compliments, only this time they were really true. "There's only like five people in the class now, I guess not many people are that into it." He chuckled, "____ teaches it."

"Oh, well, thanks," Nero said modestly. He didn't think his pictures were that good. Five people was a small group, and he had a really good chance of getting in. The rest of the school probably was thinking along the same line as he was - why waste time on art? But he decided to give it a try anyway, if only to make Catlynn feel good. "So, I guess I should go see the Headmistress?I haven't heard of _______ before."
OOC: lolz, no art teacher? le gasp

"Yeah yeah, that'd be good." Catlynn nodded, fishing through his pockets momentarily before bringing out a crumbled up piece of paper with little doodles of eyes, mouths, and other body parts strewn around it. It was his schedule, which he already had memorized, but it listed the class times and location, so he figured Nero could use it, "Here, if you end up joining." he smiled, extending the paper to him.
((Yes indeed XD I can't play all the staff members!))

OOC: I think I'll make one, for the sake of the rp and the six people that are going to learn art XD
IC: Nero looked at the schedule, first admiring the doodles then finding the art class. He turned back to the doodles. "Wow, these are really good. Where did you learn to draw eyes like that?" His personal downfall would be the eyes of his drawings.

Catlynn wasn't expecting the compliment, not even really noticing the doodles until Nero noted them. He sort of laughed off the compliment, not in a rude way, but an 'oh yeah...sure' kinda way. "Thanks, guess I just see a lotta eyes." he grinned with a small shrug, "I study people a lot, admire their faces and stuff, so it comes naturally."
((Awesome! XD ))

Oh. That was something he did not do. He looked people in the eyes sure, but he didn't actually examine them. He didn't try to draw the eyes with a lot of detail, because when he had, they had turned out fairly lopsided. He seemed to draw better when he didn't think about it, when he drew naturally. "Yeah. I can't really draw eyes, and I'm just starting on drawing people." He gestured to a boy off to the corner of his page - a crude sketch if anything.

"Oh yeah?" Catlynn glanced to the addressed sketch, able to see a few flaws here and there, but the basis of it was good. "I could help you if you want, I went to an art school before I came here, so the basics have been ingrained into my mind permanently." he grinned.

Nero grinned as well, moving so he could reach a textbook and a sheet of paper. "I guess that helps. Sure." He rested the text book on the ground, using it as a hard surface, and placed the paper on top. "So, what's the basic problem? Something looks off, I think it's the person's stance. His weight is shifted more on that side and it looks unnatural. I don't know how to change it." He pointed to various points on the picture.
OOC: I'll make the art teacher later since I have to go now
